Beginners/CrossFitters Only Weightlifting Meet
You know how the most exciting event in your local Crossfit competition is the heavy barbell event?? What if we got rid of all the cardio, threw in a few weight classes so the extra thicc boys and girls don't automatically win, and just had a blast hitting some big lifts in a friendly competition?
Do you like throwing around a barbell but you're not ready for the full USA Weightlifting experience?
No singlet? NO PROBLEM
No experience? EVEN BETTER
This meet is for you!!
Here's the deal:
- Crossfitters and beginners only. The meet is open to everyone except weightlifters with USAW meet experience.
- Jump on a scale and you'll get your weight class so you can pick on people your own size
- 3 attempts to build to a max snatch!
- 3 attempts to build to a max clean and jerk!
- Total up the best lift from each and win bragging rights and fun prizes
Rules?? THERE ARE NO RULES (ok maybe a few rules)
We'll walk everyone through some basic guidelines to have a fun and safe competition, but we'll skip some of the stuffy Olympic lifting rules about singlets, shoes, and strict judging. Basically, if it "counts in crossfit" it's a good lift at this meet!
